About the project

Universe@home project's two main goals are:
  1. to provide scientist with a necessary computational power and
  2. to provide the way of involvement for anyone equipped with a computer and willing to take part in the research

Project Manager
Ph.D. (Astrophysics) Krzysztof Belczynski
Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

As a project manager supervises the merits of the project and its execution. An expert in the field of population synthesis, compact binaries, X-ray systems, gamma-ray bursts and supernovae progenitors. His role in the project is to lead a group and coordinate the entire project. He also oversees the development of the StarTrack code for the synthesis of populations.
Team member / scientist
Ph.D. Grzegorz Wiktorowicz
Astronomical Observatory of the University of Warsaw.
His main field of research are X-ray binaries, especially these containing black hole accretors. In this project, he coordinates the realizatio of the scientific calculations and prepares code for different applications.

Krzysztof Piszczek
Server administrator and support developer for BOINC application.
Server maintence and BOINC applications code development.

Support developer

MSc. Mateusz Szpakowski
Android and OpenCL developer.
Mateusz provide Android conversion of StarTrack and is main developer for our OpenCL application version (available soon).
