of largeness of tasks

Posted 27 Nov 2017 by joel Post: Hi boincsters, I wonder if there is a technical reason why certain tasks last about 10h whereas other tasks (universe_bh2_160803_203_22084978_20000_1_999999_85200_2 for instance) are scheduled for more than 40 days! Is it easier to code this way or is there a fundamental impossibility to cut the task in sub-tasks ? Furthermore, is it worth the computation if I my estimated remaining time today is 37 days when the deadline is december 5th ? Thank you for any of your help. |

Posted 8 Nov 2017 by joel Post: Hi Universe@home crunchers, This is my second post here. I'm trying to get rid of an annoying notice from BOINC described in my first post but nobody replied :-(. I hope to focus more attention here! Anyway, I'd like to thank this awesome project and all its participants. |

using an old URL

Posted 28 Oct 2017 by joel Post: Hi Universe crunchers, I don't know how to get rid of the "This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add https://universeathome.pl/universe/" notice from BOINC. First, I noticed that removing is impossible from BOINC manager because I centralized with BAM. So I detached all hosts, synchronized, re-attached, synchronized. But the notice reappeared. I'm confused even more for the redirection to the correct addresses, not old ones, when I click any of the 5 buttons under Project web pages (I use BOINC manager 7.8.3 (x64) for Ubuntu). Can you please provide any information on the importance of this message and a way to avoid it? |
