Upload and downloads have stopped working on the pi3bp's in my stack.

Anyone no how to fix this?

It seems to have something to do with folder:
/etc/ssl/certs
and file:
ca-certificates,crt
file link:
/var/lib/boinc-client/ca-bundle.crt
points to this

I'm having problems, too. Nothing has uploaded for weeks; there are 18 tasks stuck in status "uploading." All are now past their deadlines, and there doesn't seem to be any way to delete them. Event log reports "transient HTTP error."

Any ideas?

In my case its a 10 node Linux installation., running Raspbian, Armbian and Hypriot OS
So a Windows solution would not be appropriate.

And worse. I've tried updating Boinc on the nodes and it has done nothing to solve the problem.

I'm thinking I will have to update the following file manually:
/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates,crt

and the run:
sudo update-ca-certificates

The question is where to get the latest fie compatible with Raspbian etc,

Certificate file problem update.

For any 64 Bit Windows users that did not correct their own crt file BOINC Berkeley has released an official updated BOINC Version dated 17 Oct 2021. This version contains the corrected file.

7.16.20 can be found here

https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php

Thanks Bill F.

Do you know of a Linux solution?

I need an updated version of: /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates,crt
that I can apply to my Raspbian, Armbian and HypriotOS nodes.

Any idea on where I can find the latest version of this file?

Cheers

When I had this issue at the very beginning on my linux hosts, I simply updated my systems issuing a sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade. And updates for the certificates came down the pipeline and BOINC started working again. I did nothing else. The certificates aren’t baked into BOINC on Linux like they are on Windows.

That was on Linux Ubuntu. Not sure what’s available on your specific distro.

sudo apt-get update. Done that.

sudo apt-get upgrade I do not trust. The last time I did that on one of my linux boxes, it was a disaster.
It took me weeks to repair the damage.

Not keen on trying that one anytime soon.

Hi People

Okay, we have a possible solution for Raspbian (ran without issues on 5 nodes),
not sure about HypriotOS (4 nodes) and my Armbian (Yet to find a solution)

https://github.com/xenetis/letsencrypt-expiration

I'll monitor my 5 Raspbian nodes and see how this pans out.

Cheers

Android device, I see I have 3 download and 18 upload stuck, this has been since the change, and I just realized it today as I rarely check the device, it just runs. But now, nothing is happening, nothing is uploading.

I know the founder is in the hospital so I know nothing will get done recently, and hope he will recover quickly and without complications.

Just a heads up that Android is not working properly since September, and there is no Bonic update...

Hi People

The following fix:
https://github.com/xenetis/letsencrypt-expiration

I found not only worked on my 5 Raspbian nodes, it has also worked on my 4 HypriotOS nodes. All good.

My single Armbian (bionic) node is also now working. It was fixed using:
sudo apt-get install ca-certificates -y

Android? Shit, what hasn't been affected by this?

Can the Android device be updated?

You may have to search the web for that one or maybe contact your vendor.

For Android

My two Androids are both running fine with both successfully turning in tasks using the 7.18.1 version down loaded directly from BOINC USC at
https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php

Thanks

I am having issues uploading my results on my 2 Windows 10 systems. They seem to still be downloading new work but are not uploading the results. Is there an eta as to a fix without just copying files to the Boinc folder?

If it is not available from the picklist or does not work from the picklist, try adding the project URL manually in the input box.
