Your personal background. I am a 52 yr old retired Sailor. I am currently disabled and unable to work. I am happily married and have two wonderful children that are the light of my life. Your opinions about Universe@Home I find it very difficult to believe that ours could be the only intelligent life in existence. There are so many galaxies and solar systems out there that could very well support life. I believe that there is sufficient evidence to support the possibility that this planet was visited thousands of years before our time. Many ancient civilizations had built alters to "gods" from the sky. I believe we should search for ET I and I believe if we all could donate our unused processor time to the cause, we would find them much quicker. I believe we have been sending video signals to visitors for many years. I am not sure whether it could be considered a "Welcome" signal or not, have you seen what we put on cable and satellite TV lately? Would you consider that a "Welcome" signal? I do not believe that we as a civilization are ready to make such a discovery though. We fight among ourselves over trivial issues and misunderstandings. We need to step back and reassess the big picture. I believe that if ET were discovered now it would need to be kept as quiet as possible as I believe the governments would order them dissected and destroyed.
