@ Chris,
You could try to stop BOINC and then re-start it. I have had this work for me on a number of occassions but it is only a suggestion.
I have had no work for awhile and just got some today, but have had no upload or download issues recently.

Your last contact was on the 13th of March, hitting update should contact the server, if you have been doing this then there is an issue at your end as it now has been 3 days since your last contact.

Is your anti-virus being picky and blocking you?

I have just noticed that the percentage done has not move for many, many hours so I am aborting this WU. Time to complete has reached 80 days, percentage 2.029% after 1 day 16 hours.

I have a BH Spin WU that has already been running for 1 and 1/2 days at 2 % with over 74 Days still to go and counting.

I suspect this is a faulty WU and will never finish plus will go over deadline anyway.

I will probably abort it this afternoon.

Have just aborted 3 ultaviolet work units, the system aborted 3 before that. They just keep restarting. They are short runners of less that 2 minutes.
I can see from the failed work units that everyone is having the same problem and they have been aborted or failed multiple times.

Yes, "Disk usage limit exceeded".

Also I noticed that the Work Unit name is "niverse" instead of "universe".

It is just my theory, but I think work is being run down as they work out how to make the current projects into sub-projects under the one banner, it will include Goofyxgrid and I think one other project as well, with possibly more to come.
A bit like what Community Science Grid did.

But I have heard nothing about this on this web-site only on the Goofyxgrid site, which also has cleaned out work units to make the change.

Also seems to be endless looping on the Ultraviolet Re-ionization work units as well.
Mine are getting to 100% then restarting all within 3 minutes.

Still aborting all Quarkstars for the same problem.

There are now more 0.03 Universe QuarkStars, but they still loop endlessly.

This one, for example, on an Ubuntu machine (i7-4770):

I think that they are resends from others who have had failed work units.
Still 2,800+ Quarkstars work units in progress.

I have had a few BHSpin work units and they have run successfully.

This was for work units that completed but did not finish.

My problem was that they never got past 2 minutes 50 seconds and about 22% before restarting from scratch.
So I posted in a new post to show the different behaviour of the work units.

They have been doing this all day, I have come home after many hours away only to find not a single work unit has completed on any computer.
Looping over and over, a total waste of power and time.
I shall abort all current work units.

I have noticed that the new work units that I downloaded say they will run for 10 minutes 34 seconds.
This is much quicker than they used to run (over an hour).

However they are not running for 10 minutes 34 seconds but 2 minutes 50 seconds then restarting.
I have watched 2 work units do this multiple times (probably over 10 times now as I write this).

It would appear that they will never end unless they are packaged with multiple work packets in the one work unit?
I will leave them run as I have to go out and wont be back for many hours.

I have a few WUs do this as well, even downloading after the project was suspended, then taking forever to run.
Had to abort them more than once before they stopped downloading.
Happened on both Windows and Linux

The code (0xc000001d) as in (unknown error)- exit code - 1073741795 - (0xc000001d)
indicates an illegal instruction has been attempted (as per information from the internet).

So it needs to be found what instruction the work unit is trying to do that is failing, as BHSpin v2 work units run fine on this same computer.

While I can't see the problems that Dr Who Fan is seeing (and I am using Linux at the moment as my Windows machine is doing other stuff), I do have one task that is invalid that all others have also failed on WU 6749023 for some reason it can't be validated.

No problems with other tasks except for the 'error' counter which are not errors but server cancellations and nothing to do with me.
State: All (466) · In progress (10) · Validation pending (13) · Validation inconclusive (0) · Valid (405) · Invalid (1) · Error (37)

Sorry Dr Who Fan but I have no access to the link you provided to see if it is the same problem that my Invalid work unit has suffered.

... why does the server distribute the same/identical WU to different users in the first place ... ?
Or am I missing out on something?

I've been getting (since yesterday) "computation errors" and "aborts" and "cancellations" for the ultraviolet reionization WU en masse (means: many)!

Something is going wrong on this project ??

I think it has something to do with Krzyszp doing some manual intervention to get work flow going at a higher rate due to lots of complaints about not being able to get work.

A lot of work that had been sent out and returned was found to have not had a second work unit sent out a number of days later so validation was not getting done.

In the case of all the server cancellations (I also have had at least 22 today), it is due to 2 work units being sent out to get the original work unit to validate.
As only a quorum of 2 is needed to validate a work unit the first back gets credit and the second work unit is then cancelled as not needed.

It is unfortunate that BOINC calls these cancelled work units "errors" when they are not in fact errors at all.

That is my take on it anyway.

I get the same thing.

Also happened on the BHSpin work units as well as these BHSpin v2 ones.

My run times are a lot longer than yours due to my slower computers but the credit remains the same.
I believe the same amout of work is being done just a whole lot more slowly.

Thanks Krzyszp for all the behind the scenes work that you are doing.

I noticed today that when I requested UV tasks (server shows over 79,000 at the moment) I get the message that there is no work available.
I doubt that 79,000 work units are pre-assigned to other platforms (I am using Linux) and have gotten work before (last lot a few days ago).
I have stopped BHSpinv2 at the moment as I wanted to build up my hour total on the UV tasks, but now I can't get them.

The 9 work units I received on the 30th are all still in Pending as I am the only person to have run these work units. No work has been sent any other volunteers (Wingmen) as yet.

All the errors that I have (total 15 for UV and BHSpin out of hundreds run) are due to the Server cancelling work units (even 1 that had started running), not due to any error on my host.

I will wait (nothing else to do really) and run some Primegrid in the mean time.

Thanks again

I am guessing here that due to the reduced run time for Quarkstars against BHSpin (in my case it is over 2,000 seconds less), the credit has now been reduced accordingly from 333.33 to 250.00 per work unit.

Over the last month I have found 3 of these "10" type work units on my Linux 64 bit computer that have run from over 17 to over 20 hours (over 65,000 to over 75,000 seconds), I have finished one today.
Each has been partnered with a Windows 7 computer when this has happened.
The Windows computers have all had normal run times.
All have been paid same 333.33 points.
I have only had 1 of the "0" type that I can find and it has had the shortest run time of any of my work units at 5,500 seconds.
My normal run times are from 7,500 to 14,500 seconds for all other types.

My Windows 32 bit computer has had fairly consistant run times from 13,000 to 24,000 seconds for all types.

Other than that I have had no errors running BHSpin work units on either Linux or Windows.
