Well, passed the deadline for slightly more than 24 hours of wasted computation time without hearing from the guy running the show. Switching everything over to MW@H - I'm outta here.

All of my machines are connected to one router and the same external DNS server is used for everything which accesses the net through it. Of the three I currently have on this project, two are fine and one can only connect to projects other than U@H. It's not a DNS server problem on this end - it acts more like the project is blacklisting random computers.

I still have 9 days until the completed tasks start hitting the deadline.

I also sent a private message to Krzysztof Piszczek (project admin).

I have 27 completed tasks which hit the deadline in 2.5 days and I'm going to call that my limit. Guess Krzysztof doesn't work weekends.

Same here, only one host, and for two days. It's a fileserver/backup box so it doesn't get regular local use and no significant hardware or software changes have occurred in weeks. Checked through BOINC/local firewall/router settings, wired that particular box directly to the router with different cable, un/reinstalled adapter drivers, and installed older version of BOINC. All other network and internet activities are as perfect as they've always been. As a last resort it occurrect to me to attach another project to that box just to see what would happen and it has no trouble up/down so I'm guessing there's something wrong with the U@H server.

I actually got on here to detail this nonsense and see if there was any way to manually upload the results which have been piling up before I dumped this project from everything on my network, but since someone else is having the same problem it might get some attention and I guess I'll wait another day or two. My patience with the constant problems associated with this project is wearing thin.

Good call. I forgot that the two machines with the problem were running a different virus scanner than the others. Guess it updated without telling me (grumble) and wiped out my whitelist in the process. I'm back to full capacity. Thanks.

Yes, remove/re-add removed the project folder. Permissions problem is an interesting thought, but I checked before and after and there don't appear to be any issues. I've pretty much given up on the project, though I'll let my remaining four machines keep burning until I find something better.

About a week ago two of my computers started throwing computation errors instantly upon new WU download. Since it started, some WUs compute fully and others error out instantly with no obvious pattern. Today the errors became constant again. Event log examples:

Win7x64, AMD FX 8370, 16GB RAM. Not overclocked, not running hot, plenty of empty HD/RAM space and plenty of HD/RAM space allocated to BOINC, reboot doesn't help, project reset/remove-and-add doesn't help, and POGS is currently running fine on six cores. Anyone have any ideas?
