Howto for aarch64 machines (ODROID C2, Pine64, Banana PI HC5...)
(Message 4405)
Posted 24 Jul 2020 by zombie67 [MM] Post: RP4 is now common, and Raspberry Pi 64bit (aarch64) is available. Any chance for a 64 bit Universe ULX app that just works? |

Computer not receiving Work units
(Message 1466)
Posted 31 Aug 2016 by zombie67 [MM] Post: I think one of two possibilities: 1) Server Status page is broken. It is showing that tasks are available, when in reality, there are none. or 2) A homogeneous redundancy problem I have seen in the past at other projects. All the tasks available are for one particular rare combination of OS and CPU type that no one but the admin and a few others are running. And no tasks available for most of the users who have more common combinations of OS and CPU type. For what it is worth, I have 1 linux machine (64 bit linux mint), 8 windows machines (Win 7 64 and win 10 64), and 11 Macs (latest OS). All are 64 bit intel CPUs. None are getting any tasks. All are being told none available. |

Large upload Files
(Message 109)
Posted 27 Feb 2015 by zombie67 [MM] Post: Funny, this morning i had the idea to ask zombie :D At first, the machines would download way too much work, and everything runs in panic mode. I think the time estimates for the tasks may be too small. However, the BOINC client will apply a Duration Correction Factor to the project as tasks complete. So now my queue is normal size and not running in panic mode. With regard to the uploads, they usually take ~3 minutes to upload. With task run times of several hours, the uploads never get backed up for me. |

Posted 27 Feb 2015 by zombie67 [MM] Post: That's true, there must be such an option, afaik Gerasim@home crew uses it. Gerasim uses custom BOINC on the server side. They re-wrote it to run on windows for some reason. In doing so, they changed many features. |

Posted 21 Feb 2015 by zombie67 [MM] Post: OK, now it works. I stopped using BS BAM, added manually Universe@Home using Manager. It downloaded all project files and started crunching. Then I restarted using BS BAM. All seems to be OK, though these steps are quite laborious. I am guessing the problem is with BAM, not with the project. |
