Well, I'm very pleased to hear that the project will go on. Super!

That is incorrect. Project continuation is still undecided.

What I wish is some information about the timeline for the decision to continue or shut down. Somebody needs to get CAMK to provide some insight to their decision process and when will that process happen.

And there's me, glad that I recently reached 20 million altogether :D Sometimes I feel like, what's the point of me crunching, if people do in a few hours what I do in a month, but I guess every little counts?

A bit more than a year later, and I just reached 50 million.

For the project "every little bit counts" because your simulation could be the breakthrough for a dynamic new idea on the Universe....

Ouch! I am sorry to hear about your loss.

You may not be able to merge the accounts. But if they are on the same email address they will "share". So open a new account with a email address that is the same on both systems.

Every once in a while this system tops 2.9M rac. And then something happens and it falls back.

I am hoping to eventually get it to cozy up to 3M and stay there.

I have an ASUS Tinkerboard, similar to a Pi 3/4 with a 4-core arm CPU.
I use it exclusively on Universe at home. WCG used to give me some WU's and other projects don't seem to give me enough time to to complete them
I only keep it on for about 6 hours a day and just use it for tinkering with random projects

It takes about 7h's to process one Universe task and I do 3 at a time

What happens if you run a single task? Does the processing speed up/slow down?

Thank you for your previous post.

Hi everyone!

I did a test to see how the new Pi 5 works with U@H, and wow, the results are impressive, the new Pi 5 is very fast, comparable to old desktop CPUs that use 4-5 times the power. With the Pi 5 I got around 60 tasks per day. I published the benchmark results on my blog:

Thank you.

Try a mercury rectifier: https://youtu.be/QY6V2syGnZA?si=_UHout8RNxYA8ylK&t=134

Oh, you meant the planet.

Peter,
I am old enough to have read of early experiments in computers using standing waves in mercury tubes for information storage. I can't remember if it was being used for ram or for some kind of temporary data storage like the "drums" were.

Congratz Tom. That is an achievement. Increasing the power without improving the cooling is a zero sum game.

IIRC, you have an AIO on that cpu, correct?

Yes, I have an AIO cpu cooler on the Epyc-OX (above) system.

There has been a drop in production to below 1.5M but I don't expect it to go below 1.4M before it starts back up.
