Right now it seems the download and upload servers are the only ones working. Everything else shows as Not Running or Disabled.

I did the “merge computers” action hoping something would change. Maybe that was the reason.

Thanks. I only see 1 task which I had already aborted but shows as In Progress. I’ll just go with the 901 that Grant found. Has to be the right number.
I appreciate everyone’s help and time.

Interesting.
They’re both the same computer.
When I login, I see all my computers properly merged. So I tried viewing my profile without logging in and then I see what you see.
However, I still don’t see the 901 number of tasks. Could you point me to how you found that?

Thanks. That’s why I asked here. My account page shows nothing. I’ve been contributing solely to Einstein for a few weeks and I think that absence is all it took to wipe out all my numbers. I have total credit & RAC of course, just not anything beyond those.

Thank you both. I’ll have to give up on the idea.

@Keith - Valid tasks would have been good enough. But your noting of the credit change throws a wrench in the works.

@Grant - Unfortunately, I have had to reinstall BOINC a few times. Mostly due to: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=14506
That may have thrown off the readings. For example, my MLC tasks show as 199 even though I’ve done > 2k for that project (their website preserves task count).

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post.

I understand that it is not possible to see the actual tasks since they get removed but is it possible to get a total count for each of my machines?

Also the brownie points are fixed at some multiple of the speed of a vinyl LP.

One of my machines hasn’t been on since the 26th but I still see credit being added to it. I’m guessing this is an example of what you meant? That such “true up” is done long after the work has been submitted?

You can decide how many tasks to accumulate: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Editing_computing_preferences_with_the_BOINC_Manager

Change number of days of stored work.

Thank you for the walkthrough.

I checked again after a fresh boot. Both CUDA and OpenCL entries identify my nvidia GPU. I got one line for each. The event log refreshes very quickly and I couldn’t find the entries again but at least I can confirm.

Btw, I use a fork of Ubuntu, so no risk of MS drivers. But I appreciate the heads-up on directly getting drivers from nvidia site. When I used to be on Windows, I always used Nvidia site.

Thank you for your detailed explanation. Apologies again - my language was unclear.

I have one machine with Nvidia GPU and two with only integrated GPUs. I don’t have any machines with AMD GPUs. I have seen the nvidia GPU process tasks for other projects.

I did look at the event log but all I saw were lines about uploading tasks. However, you answered my question by confirming that only CPUs are used for this project, as well as clarified that not all applications for any project would use GPUs. Thanks again.

Sorry for the stupid question but I’d just like to confirm that only AMD GPU can process tasks but not NVIDIA, correct?

My conclusion is based off (a) the preferences parameters and (b) I’ve never seen my GPU being used (I have one machine with NVIDIA).

Thanks.

LOL. On that note, I did notice that at certain times of the day I wouldn’t get credit and that would be corrected the next day. Thanks.

For now, since the machine I use the most isn’t powerful, I’ve decided to move away from this project. My old beater may die waiting for these tasks to finish. ;)

Hi.

This week I noticed variation in my task times. Typically 2.5 hrs/task. Now it has been in the 3~4 hour range. I saw one task complete in 1.25 hrs. Credit is same per task. Any ideas as to why?
Thanks.
