No, it is not fixed. I am unable to upload completed wu's.

EDIT: 10/12/2019 7:00:22 AM | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
10/12/2019 7:00:22 AM | Universe@Home | Scheduler request failed: Failure when receiving data from the peer
10/12/2019 7:00:24 AM | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

EDIT: Now it is working. Thanks!

Ditto what JugNut said. Upgrade to:
Linux Raspbian
Raspbian GNU/Linux 10 (buster) [4.19.58-v7+|libc 2.28 (Debian GLIBC 2.28-10+rpi1)]
and that should fix your problem.
Cheers

Ok.
I see that current points for WU's are problem for quite large group of us. Also, I see that small group of WU's now calculate even longer that most of them,
So, from next batch I will increase amount of credits by factor of 1.5 or 2 (I need bit more observation of current computation time)...

Good decision. I will be back once my queue drains.
Cheers.

I think, we give too much credits recently. Seriously, at the time when I set credit it takes 6 hours to finish on single core on i7 CPU.
Recently, some tasks finish in 18 minutes on same machine.

I really don't like to be a person, who make "inflation" on BOINC projects...

OK, it is your project but my machines. I have moved them to Einstein. Good luck!

I run 3 x Threadrippers, 2 x 8700K and 17 x ARM machines at Universe right now (188 threads). I do not mind if the wu's are larger and take longer to run but you need to immediately adjust credits proportionally. Otherwise participation will plummet. Of course if that is acceptable to you, then so be it.
Cheers

The lack of communication is a real big turn off. This was my #1 project for my SBCs, going to put it last as it looks we are taken for granted and we cannot depend on it for work.

Yep, it's all about you PappaG. All DC projects exist purely for your personal enjoyment. Grow up and STFU!

I think you certainly deserve to be paid for your efforts. Talented IT people should not be expected to work for free. But this is a volunteer project for all of us. Should not the University of Warsaw, or the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences be supporting you?

I certainly understand if you can not continue. You have done more than your fair share for science. It seems that the institutions may be letting you down. I hope they can find some way to pay you something. Good luck.

I agree. +1

Link to WU, please?

No work unit. When I request work in BOINC your server (or BOINC) responds with that message. Thanks.

19) Message boards : Number crunching : Large upload Files (Message 101)

Users can only do two things. 1. Point out an apparent problem and 2. Switch to another project. Now a number of us have pointed out that the size of the upload files are unmanageable at the users end. In my case, my cache is set at two days although the maximum is 10. BOINC software manages that quite well and only downloads more when the software thinks that it can handle the work in the allotted time. Please note that the BOINC Project software also gives you the choice of limiting the number of units sent, beyond which the user gets a message that his request accede the daily limit and will not get new workunits. As regards the slowness of the upload. I am on cable and the Techs at Optus my cable provider tells me that my upload speed is 1.4 Mbps and the problem is at your end as can be proven by pinging your server. It is not capable of supporting receiving such large uploads from many sources. This can be likened to a DOS attack. Please note also that Universe is the only project that have this problem. I can upload to any of the other 50+ active projects in a matter of minutes not hours.

Finally, since you have indicated that you can not do anything about this in the foreseeable future, I am also setting my machines to No new work and crunch some other more suitable project. If and when the project is fixed I might return for I like the science behind it. Good Luck.

Keep on crunching and have a nice day...

Thanks Pete. In my case I have the maximum bandwidth AT&T will give a residential customer and my cache was set to 0.01 and still it choked my network. Will be interested to see what others think. I too like the science and will see what happens here but cannot participate.

As a big supporter of the Test project, I was very disappointed to see the unmanageable file sizes are not going to change in the foreseeable future. I have removed this project from my servers and moved them to Einstein. Good luck with the project but I will no longer participate in it.
