Lots of OS patches being released and if you are using a brand name system such as HP, Dell, IBM a fair number of manufacturers are posting updates. Post: Dell has started to release new updated BIOS downloads for systems using Intel chips. Subject to what you are running it appears that Intel has started to provide manufactures with mitigation assistance. Post: To bad Work Units are not distributed on an Age basis using original generation date or date of regeneration for a resend required work unit. Basically a First In - First out Que. If the Project Admin wanted to prioritize one application's work units over another he could still do that as well. Bill F P.S. I am now down to 9 work units with dates from Aug, Sep or Oct. so 38 have cleared since mid November. |

Post: Earlier there was a response that read... But this not validated tasks are something about 0.005% of all tasks and I'm still trying to find why... While that might be true in the Big picture some of the Users have XX % two digit amount of work units. One aspect is minor but to the other it is significant. Why a failed half is never re-issued to a new user or in some cases never issued at all is a basic issue that needs to be resolved. Perhaps the Admin could ask for advice from a friend on another BOINC project. Bill F |

Post: I have 17 tasks dated on or before September 14th where I completed my half of the unit on a Task and the other half has never been released to a single system. Seems odd that the oldest available task is not being released first. Example Task 15183481 and Work Unit 6876543 Thanks Bill |

Post: Unless you are posting for the Admin of this project your advice to dump older systems is not productive to users in less developed countries who want to assist. Tolerance and patience while the Admin tries to fix an Application which is posted to support Win 98 would be helpful. Bill F |
