You're replying a thread almost 6 years old!

Task credit has varied several times since then.

Yes, most of the electricity used for PCs is waste heat so anyone with electric heat might well put some PCs in the lower floor and let the heat rise to fill their home.

Most of my winter heat comes from my PCs running. I don't use old hardware but the furnace does not turn on until low 20sF

Then run more clients.
Many projects have a lot lower task count per core even before U@H's change, esp for GPUs. Some have limits that only allow for 1-2 hours of work.

Set another project with zero priority if you're worried about running out of work. No one needs 3 days. If you run out of work with 1.5 days then so will everyone else.

Add these to the options section of the cc_config.xml, save and restart the boinc client.
    <alt_platform>arm-unknown-linux-gnueabihf</alt_platform>
    <alt_platform>armv7l-unknown-linux-gnueabihf</alt_platform>
    <alt_platform>aarch64-unknown-linux-gnu</alt_platform>

What folder does it go in. I put it in the usr/bin/projects/universeathome.pl_universe folder but when I started boinc the first entry in the event log is 26/06/2021 4:02:27 PM | | cc_config.xml not found - using defaults. I also changed the ones that already existed in
/var/lib/boinc-client/cc_config.xml
/etc/boinc-client/cc_config.xml

cc_config.xml is not project specific so it goes in the main directory:
/var/lib/boinc-client/
C:\ProgramData\BOINC

There was an error in ULX batch, I had to remove them unfortunately...

Regarding to points for BHSpin - yes, the points are to high and I will correct ot after of this batch do 1/3 (probably).

Uhh did you just increase the runtime by 3x instead of reducing credit? The tasks I got this morning for the Sprint have a lot of different run times. 2h to over 6hr

Ah no wonder there are no more tasks this morning. At the rate the queue was dropping I thought there would still be tasks today.

1.1k valid to 1k invalid for me as well. I can't find a task invalid that was actually completed by another person so all my pending work was thrown away for nothing. There better be a good reason for this.

BHSpin v2 tasks used to be worth 333 points. For some reason they are worth 4x now for not 4x the time esp on newer Zen PCs. 100k RAC on a 32 core system used to be pretty good.
20) Message boards : Number crunching : Very long running Android task, do I leave it going? (Message 4632)
Posted 12 Feb 2021 by mmonnin
Post:
My RPIs get a task that run 2-3x as long every couple of days.
Do you notice them restarting? My android phones get some that run two or three times then complete successfully. The percentage resets back to zero once or twice, but the timer keeps running. Very occasionally they repeat several times and approach the deadline, which makes me notice them. It can't be due to interruptions, as one of the phones does nothing but Boinc and is never moved.

The ETA is just very long. Just several minutes in the ETA can be 1day+ when normal run time is like 10 hours.
