Post: Haha ha hah. Yes we all weeped when they halved the credits last year after the whinging from the ULX task crunchers complained about task credit inequity compared to BHSpin2 tasks for approximate equal runtimes. It is a chance that the ULX's come back about end of July. |

Post: In fact, the Windows and Linux app uses exactly same source code. The only difference is compilation environment (gcc vs VS) and using "isnan" and "isinf" replacement for Microsoft functions (as MS don't cover standard C implementation). |

Post: Ok. What I found, that in last few hours server get about 650'000 of finished work units. I suspect, that most of them comes back from Formula BOINC competitors. This slows down server as every single result means 5 files which need to be processed on server. It will come back to normal in probably few hours... |

Post: Currently is ~750k WU in progress (and the quantity is stable since competition start). In last 24 hours server gets ~350k results - so another 350k was also sent to clients. I was wrong. I have changed sheduler algorithm to old one and I think it help... |

You really believe in what it saying? :) Every server admin know, that first error on SSD is usually also the last one. HDD's even with broken places on surface still allow you to recover most data. Our server is a proof of this... |

Post: I can't believe there are still projects (like Milkyway) still struggling with hard disks. Hard disks are from the 20th century. Mechanical storage ROTFPMSL! Are you notice, that ROTFPMSL disks works on the server since 2015 24/7? :) I believe there is still no SSD's on the market which will last for that long with same quantity of data written... At least in 2015 was not for our budget... |

Post: WCG is in transition to a new data center with a new project owner for the next couple of months, so lot of folks probably firing up old/other projects in the meanwhile. I know, I have done some contribution with my machines on WCG done too and I'm trying to be up to date with it. |

Post: Currently we have nearly 600'000 WU's in progress and you finish 300'000 WU's daily! I never seem these numbers on our project :) Very big THANK YOU for your support for our project :) BTW, our server is not killed by this quantity of tasks mainly because of switching to SSD's. |

Post: It's possible that when disks fails some files get corrupted on server. I have no way to test or even find it. It should by very limited number (we have replaced bad disk immediately with spares) but we have to wait few days to see the scale of disaster... |

Post: In the near future (today or tomorrow) there may be an unannounced downtime of the server. It should not last longer than an hour and is related to the change of some disks on the main project server. We do not expect any loss of job, the whole thing should last no more than an hour. |

Post: 1. The load was the problem and hard drives itself. The main server disks are in fact oldest disks in project. We need replace old hard drives to SSD's. 2. No, I wrote script in PHP myself and run monitoring from my own machine. W not use Log4j at all. 3. No, I'm living now in Opole, Poland. And another news from this night... I have Covid... Again... (Yes, I got two vaccines, was waiting for third). So, I'm on isolation for next 10 days but... This means that I have more time to work with server room friends remotely. |

Post: Small update. As unfortunately it was not possible to arrange the disk replacement this weekend, I decided to generate some jobs. When I know the date of the replacement, I will suspend the server for a few hours needed to perform this operation. |

None of our servers and services will be shut down, but there may be temporary problems with their availability. |
