Post: Other apps are used rare, when some results need to be recalculated with different algorithms. At the moment there is no point to turn it on, but I don't want to remove it as in past I was few times surprised ;) |

Post: I was all set to post a response, when i thought i should have a closer look at my results- and those month long ones are due to the resends of Tasks due to missed deadlines. Otherwise they are culled after 7 days. Don't apologise. db_purge doesn't work perfectly. Sometimes I see in database tasks a year old and not deleted. I'm clearing it myself manually. |

Post: Did you not say once there was a faster network being given to your server? It was. When we move to CAMK we got 1Gbit pipe instead of (If my memory still work well) 100 or 300Mbit previously. |

Post: BS shows (as far as I know) only credits awarded from users who allow export data to external services. Edit: Probably I'm wrong on this point. You show me something interesting to check. I need to make some queries on database to see difference between reported to BS points and what I see on Administrator panel. But i do it tomorrow. |

Post: Not anymore. Sorry, but no. This competition starts 05.05. Two weeks will be on 19th. Usually our project gets 75k-100k results daily, now it is, depend of day 600k-1,2m results daily. Also, as soon as quantity of results received drop a bit I started work generator to make another 3m of work units ready to go. Average during this competition project handle 6-10times more work then usually. Average. Last but not least - project server doing bit more then only sending and receiving tasks ;) |

Post: The problem is now in very large number of concurrent HTTP connections. Our server handles about 300 simultaneous connections and it is maximum what it can do. Setting more makes server very unstable (in terms of deamons, not machine or operating system) and cause more problems then it solve. Most (if not all) BOINC documented method of increasing server performance I have already implemented, but we are limited by network and what system can handle. |

Post: Universe@Home are 3 servers: 1. Main server 2. Database server 3. Storage server On main server SSD's are SATA, there is no NVMe ports at all as this is about 7 years old Xeon 1230 machine. Database server is on NVMe machine and it must be quick, as it doing loads more than only project database serving. It do most work with computation results received from volunteers. Storage server is already used to storage all results and is used also to manipulate results with other software where results files have to be sorted, analysed etc. This is what our budged was enough to buy and usually it is quite enough to do all tasks smoothly. BOINC engine not allow to zip all files on client side together itself. Obviously we can send to volunteers another executable file which will pack result files together but... This doesn't have any sense as the files must be unpacked back on server which will cause in more disk operations and overall server load (but single result files are zipped on client side). Anyway, we will probably upgrade systems with new grant in about 2 years (obviously if we get it - but with current project results I strongly believe that we get it). |

Post: In last 24h server get: Success finished tasks: 1'171'604 Tasks with computation error (and others errors) 17'335 Tasks where host didn't contact with server 2'520 Validation errors 67 Orphaned tasks 2160 I didn't expect that this numbers are even possible on our server. Now we have some problems with disks subsystem (even SSD's are bit to slow to manage this quantity of files). |

Post: At the moment, every second to server comes back 46 files (4 millions files per day). Also, at the same time some workunits are downloaded. I'm afraid this the limit where I can't do much more on server. |
