It's too much, it will damage the battery.

Well currently I have it set at 40c and so far it does not seem to throttle at all even this three full time cpu's running. There did appear something else that I hope someone saw.

While the work unit is running it would be doing toward 90% and then all of a sudden the progress bar would go down all the way to 10%, however the total run time does not change.

I actually have one of these running right now where work time has reached 3h 30min and the progress bar reached to 86.5%. So it does work, but just takes longer than the other ones. I am hoping that this is just because they are longer.

Why Universe@Home for Android needs more than 950MB of space? I have an old tablet with 1GB of memory (so about 600-650 MB of free space) and can't download any WU.

WUs need only max. 9,5MB ram.
Try to free your disk-space and it should run.
How are your settings, max disk usage and max memory when in use?
On my Odroid-XU4 with 2 GB ram i run 8 WUs without problem.

Why don't you buy a Asus ZenFone 2? It has a Intel Atom CPU so you can develop a version of Universe@Home for x86 Android devices. I'd really like to run this project on this type of devices

It needs 960MB of "ROM", not RAM. My little sister's tablet has only 1GB of total space (just a device to play but I'm using it for BOINC projects :P)

Thank you.

Can you make bigger WUs with longer runtime?
My ARMs need for a wu 1,5h, with the limit of 8 wu/core there is only a buffer of 12h.
My Android-hosts make about 2000 wu/day.
With longer wu the serverload will be less and the workbuffer is longer.

Can we have a ARM app for AArch64 (ARMV8) ?

The current arm v7 compatible app emulates double precision, while ARMV8 would support it natively.(Even enabling it to use NEON intrinsics)

Besides that, can we get the ability to sort postings in the forum like it uses to be by "news post, most read etc..." i'm kinda getting annoyed by having to scroll through all post to get to the latest one...

TIA
(p.s. still hoping to see the source code beeing released)
(p.p.s. if you need help compiling an OSX app let me know.)

Yes... and... no...
The problem is that most ARM systems report them as "ARM"...
I already have 64bit ARM application but server doesn't recognise properly where to send it...

"Jedi" of BOINC told me, that server is smart enough to recognise it during longer period of time, but this is recognised after quite big quantity of WU's for the application... Unfortunately, we change our source code (application) to often to meet this condition (because you give us quickly interesting and important data)...

So, I will think about this, but it is in long task list at the moment...

That's too bad... so we have to accept an unnessesary slowdown by a factor of 4...

"Jedi" of BOINC told me,

DONT FALL FOR THAT !!!! It's a TRAP !!

"He" is trying to use a disguise! Actually he's known as:
Darth Anderson one if not the most evil Sith Lords that ever exitsted!!!

He and his evil minions(Storm Troopers) are out to reduce WU credit levels towards beeing NEGATIVE !!!

If you haven't seen this evil overlord, here's a pic. BEWARE OF THE DARK SIDE !!!

Recently he recruited a new member to the First Order ... his name is Kylo ROM... His mission... make using BOINC Manager as miserable as possible !!!

So, I will think about this, but it is in long task list at the moment..

While we're at it... what about OSX ???

You made my day :)

But, back to topic:

While we're at it... what about OSX ???

There is a problem... I know cross-compilation, but I don't wan't to test everything on live system...
I never do anything on Mac's... I need lessons, and I don't have hardware to learn...
