Universe@Home Computing Credits Not Updating

hello everyone! For the past two days I have noticed that neither BoincStats or Free-DC are showing I have contributed any credits to Universe@home. I can see I have active tasks running on my machines and Universe@Home is showing my total credit count increasing throughout the day. Has anyone else noticed a similar trend? My other projects seem to be updating as normal (MilkyWay, Einstein). I did have something similar happen with Einstein where I had to consent to them exporting my stats but I can't seem to find anything similar for Universe@home under my preferences (it had something to do with GDPR Compliance in the US). I was just about to start a thread about this too. Universe does not currently provide any data for the statistics pages. I think someone have to take a look in the machine room to see, if a cog wheel is stuck. |

Thanks for the reply! I was worried it was something on my end. I am going to keep an eye on it. Since Universe seems to be keeping track of my credits I assume eventually the stats sites will be updated. |

I already PM'd Krzysztof. The stats.gz file generation stopped 28 March at 9AM. He's restarted the process. Stats should be picked up by the 3rd party stats aggregation sites tomorrow.   A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

The problem with stats export should be fixed and statistic files _should_ rebuild soon. But in mean time I found that is something wrong in connection between main and database server and storage server. I’ve been keeping an eye on my stats but so far haven’t seen any updates come through. Strange thing is milkyway@home also seems to be having some kind of issue, although I don’t believe it’s the same thing. For milkyway my pending validation count is increasing pretty rapidly throughout the day. I haven’t seen that occur here but figured I’d mention it. |

Yes, it looks like we have still a problem here. The user of the day, is it since two days....i guess. I have increased my bunker to 2 days, so if there is a longer break and maintenance work, I am covered. |

Looks the stats.gz export file generation problem is more severe than originally estimated. The issue with their inter-server communications must be more difficult to resolve than than expected. A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

The problem is bigger than I expect and to solve it require my visit in data center. Unfortunately, I can't go over there now (it is ~370-400km). But, we still can continue work as main and database server are fine. I will go to Warsaw about 3th-5th of May. Thanks for the update, Krzysztof It is very unfortunate that the stats export will not be solved for a month. This will cause the project to be grey-listed at Gridcoin and I am sure a lot of crunchers will dissappear from the project. We were hoping that Universe might be chosen for the next crunching sprint at BoincGames coming up on 6 April. But without any stats exported that can't happen. My planes change so quickly :) I got info today, that I need to go for few days to UK in next month... So, I will go to Warsaw before this day (I hope in next week or two - I don't know yet when). Thanks again for the new update Krzysztof. I understand now that the Sprint contests at BoincGames do not depend on the stats.gz generation. Instead it uses web RPC protocols for the Sprints. But it does use the stats.gz file for the Marathon contest. So good news is that puts Universe back in contention for the upcoming Sprint in 3 days. Hoping for more good news from the datacenter. As expected, Universe@home has been grey-listed at Gridcoin. You will not earn magnitude or any GRC for work done on the project until the stats are exported again. A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Based on Krzysztof's post from April 3rd, hopefully the issue will be resolved within the next few days. He said he would be travelling to Warsaw within the next week or two (that was back on the 3rd so I am hoping it will be resolved within the next few days). I ended up suspending all work units and focusing on a few other projects in the meantime. Hoping the issue gets resolved soon! |
