You can decide how many tasks to accumulate: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Editing_computing_preferences_with_the_BOINC_Manager Change number of days of stored work. |

It also takes a while for the Manager to determine how much time is available for processing BOINC work. In your account, Computing preferences, When to suspend "Suspend when computer is in use" leave unselected. "Suspend when non-BOINC CPU usage is above" set to 75% Unless you are doing heavily CPU intensive work (ie video encoding), There's no need to suspend when in use or suspend when non BOINC CPU work occurs as BOINC applications are set to run at the lowest priority levels- if the computer needs to do other work, the BOINC applications take a back seat till the other work is done. No need to suspend them. For the cache size- Under Other, set "Store at least 0.1 days of work" and "Store up to an additional 0.01 days of work" The more projects you do, the smaller the cache the better & the sooner your cache settings& Resource share settings will be met. Save those changes and the next time your computers contact the project they will get the new settings (or click on Update for Universe in the Projects tab in BOINC Manager). Grant Darwin NT |

Also beneficial to change the REC value in the cc_config.xml so it responds better and quicker to balancing the average credit among your attached projects. That way BOINC will obey your resource share much better. The default of ten days is WAY too long. Better value is 1 day. The value is located here: </proxy_info> <rec_half_life_days>1.000000</rec_half_life_days> A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |
