Probably server is overloaded, I have problems with getting tasks too. |

I just got in front of my PC's and they're almost all running dry with no tasks. |

Why does server status show heaps of tasks yet none of my Windows computers can get any to crunch? |

Remember the server is only one machine. So this Formula Boinc challenge is hammering the server and making it very slow in response on the web server process and for uploading I see also. A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Currently is ~750k WU in progress (and the quantity is stable since competition start). In last 24 hours server gets ~350k results - so another 350k was also sent to clients. I was wrong. I have changed sheduler algorithm to old one and I think it help... Krzysztof 'krzyszp' Piszczek Member of Radioactive@Home team My Patreon profile Universe@Home on YT |

Work requests are still responded to with "Project has no tasks available" most of the time. From what I understood, the scheduler does not access the entire pool of what we see as "tasks ready to send" at server_status.php. Rather, the scheduler is supplied from a small in-memory queue of unassigned tasks. (Was this a shared-memory buffer between feeder and scheduler?) Whenever a server is receiving very frequent work requests like the U@h server is now, the challenge is to get this small in-memory buffer refilled. I don't know what precisely can be tuned server-side to address this. It may be a matter of increasing responsiveness of the database, or maybe it's as simple as increasing the size of this mentioned in-memory buffer. |

Fixed I'm seeing the same issue as Keith across all my PCs. Fastest machines are falling further behind. With the Dutch Cows Stampede, people from WCG, and this Sprint, I think we're hitting the limit of what the server can handle. |

Yea you could say the server is a little overloaded: As I post this the Server stats are Computing project 1,098,880.00 GigaFLOPS (110% PetaFLOPS) How much more can it handle before busting? |

Looks like the Formula BOINC people influx departed and I was finally able to clear all my stalled uploads. A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |
