Hello all,, I'm new to this project (but been Boincing since at least 2004). I have a WU on a Windoze laptop that looks like it isn't going to finish. Every other WU I have has always finished in the 4 - 6 hour time span. The other computer doing this WU on Linux completed it in what seems like a normal time. See here: https://universeathome.pl/universe/workunit.php?wuid=91523374 Should I dump it and move on? This is the culprit. Application Universe BHspin v2 0.20 Name universe_bh2_190723_394_991649009_20000_1-999999_650100 State Running Received 08/03/2022 12:12:41 Report deadline 22/03/2022 12:12:40 Estimated computation size 16,075 GFLOPs CPU time 05:18:56 CPU time since checkpoint 00:06:16 Elapsed time 3d 13:34:50 Estimated time remaining 1d 10:07:15 Fraction done 71.495% Virtual memory size 5.28 MB Working set size 1.16 MB Directory slots/0 Process ID 13736 Executable BHspin2_20_windows_x86_64.exe |

I've got this issue once and restarting the computer solved problem. If not just abort this unit and move on. It will be send to another user and computed. |

Yes, first thing to try with a "stuck" WU is always just restart BOINC. The process thread is probably "zombied" and that is why it is not making progress. Restarting BOINC assigns a new process thread to the task and it will likely continue normally. If it still looks like it is not processing, then just abort the task and pass it back to the pool. Thank you Pawg and Keith. I closed BOINC and restarted my computer. Everything seems to be working now. Thank you. |
