Hello, Number Crunchers. I am thinking about what boinc
project I should concentrate on the next time universe@home
goes down for a protracted length of time. Are there any
pi users out there with experience on the rosetta@home
project? I would be interested in asking how that has gone
for you.

Also, any tips for speeding up a cluster of pi-3s and pi-4s
vis-a-vis universe@home productivity? I already have the
individual nodes overclocked, which seems to help a bit.

You might also consider using your Pi's at Einstein. Though it seems the BRP4 tasks have run out today. But the FGRP5 tasks are plentiful.

My Pies are currently set up with U@H, Einstein, and WCG, but I'm not getting any tasks from Einstein (apparently they are have a problem), and WCG is taking an extended break. In the past I have run Asteroids, but that has been dead for several months now, though they do have a Pi running as their place-holder web server.

Hello,

I used to run Rosetta@H on my RPI4 / 8GB before they ran out of tasks. In was OK, no issues. For Rosetta & RPi4, my tip is: underclock the CPU. It's limited by DDR speed, high CPU clocks only raise power usage without much real benefit (ok, there might be some small benefit, but i'm a sucker for efficiency). The opposite is true for U@H, it's pretty much frequency limited.

Tips for increasing U@H productivity: make sure you're using a recent linux distro. In particular, newer glibc versions (2.29+) have updated math library with ARM optimizations. This has moderate effect on RPI 3 at least, with RPI 4 the effect is smaller, AFAICT.
