on my Android the Universe WU's appear for download but they never start and just sit there saying "downloading", not doing anything. Before the summer when I turned the phone off because of the heat, Universe worked fine. Rosetta, Einstein and WCG still do. On that phone I am not using the newest BOINC version but the one before that (7.16.x?) which used to work just fine. Since summer I didn't change any settings. Does anyone experience the same problem?

Your BOINC client is outdated and won't work anymore because of a SSL certification expiration. You should install the latest BOINC client and you will be able to get work again.

Hey Keith! You were right! The problem was the outdated certificate. After updating Boinc Universe works without problems. It is interesting to note that of the four projects I tried only Universe seemed to be effected by that. Thanks.

It just meant that Universe was running recent server code with updated 1.1.1 SSL certs while many other projects were still running the deprecated, vulnerable 1.02 SSL certs.

Why you needed to update the client to current certs also.

Hi, My uploads are stuck in the transfer window. I am running BOINC 1.16.11 version with Windows 10 x64.

They are listed as universe_bh2_190723_380_209xxxxxxxx sizes are 246 or 247 bytes.

I clicked in the menu to check for BOINC updates and pop up window said "no new version available to download." Should I look elsewhere for updates ?

Thank you for you time.

Yes, that is too old a version to eliminate the expired SSL certificate problem that prevents the client from contacting projects.

Download the newest BOINC client at the BOINC download page. https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php
