Hi, maybe its possible to bring the website on a different hoster? I was a bit afraid that i had no real info for days whats happend and why the project including all websites is down for days :) A member in the Gridcoin subreddit wrote me that u have these problems but i had the feeling i cant get any info whats going on. A separated website might be helpful on that. Thank u very much for all ur hard work! universe@home is my favorit crunching project :) |

Well done, Krzysztof, for quickly sorting out a major failure. I did see your message on BOINC Stats, though only after someone mentioned it on the BOINC forum (https://boinc.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=10279&postid=106682), which I was monitoring for news of Universe@Home. To me that would seem like a more logical place to post when the Universe@Home server is dead, unless you can have a Raspberry PI ready and waiting to provide a "Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible" message :). |

Still having problems with downloading new WUs. Boinc shows me that the download is in process for hours (in some cases even days). Haven't change my settings nor switched to another computer. Are there any problems? Does anyone have issues with downloading? |

I hope after disk replacing Universe@Home come back to high service quality as was before ;) Also, I'm apologise delay in information - it was new year day and I didn't check server status to frequent. Anyway, I will prepare website monitoring script for better reactivity in case of major problems in future. No. Disk die 11 days ago. I have informed what happened at 2022-01-05 06:20:53 on BS forum, before this on our team forum. Next few days takes to find temporary spare disk and setup it from backup... Even now is still about 8kk files to copy through network before server come back to full operational state,,, Krzysztof 'krzyszp' Piszczek Member of Radioactive@Home team My Patreon profile Universe@Home on YT |

Looks like we will run out tasks tomorrow. Will have to switch to other projects again until the hard drives get replaced in two weeks. A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Anyone have an idea for when this project will be back online? When y'all switch tasks, do you remove the project from your managers --- or do you just suspend and add a new one? Thanks for considering. |

You don't need to remove a project from you list everytime there is no more work. Just leave it and concentrade on another project until the work returns... |

Two weeks? It takes two weeks to change a hard drive(s)? What the heck is going on here? I thought there'd be some degree of professionalism in a project like this, but it seems like it's being run out of somebody's garage. Why continue to put effort into such an amateur project? Sheesh. Time to find something else. 1. the database needs to be purged. there are still ~72,000 tasks in progress that need to be completed and returned to the project before work can begin. 2. the admin lives several hundred miles from the data center where the hardware is located. |

No. Take your time so it's done right. Most of us realize it takes time to fix from a distance. Pay no mind to the kids griping. edit: What I wanted to say would have gone against the rules..So I won't say them. |

We will respect you more when you have been around longer and have a better understanding of the project. Just got info: "Disks estimated arrival time: 01-FEB-2022". Good news is "remote hands" will replace it for me as soon as disks arrives, then in one or maximum two days later move whole system to them. Another good news is the new disks will be much faster and allow me to make more spare tasks on same time. Your work is much appreciated Krzysztof, keep it up. My computers are ready when you are. They run through gridcoin so I'm doing more than I seem :-) |
