I am new here so this may be an old issue. On aggregation sites like Boincstats all projects on my list show successful communication except Universe@ Home. It says no communication. For statistical ranking it only counts a fraction of members. For example it currently has me ranked around 800 for total credit and shows only about 1,400 total members. If I click the statistics tab here on this site and click down through the list I find myself currently ranked around 4,500 for total credit. Boinc Combined Statistics also shows 1,400 or so total members when there are obviously far more. Any reason for this?

Does not answer my question. I have agreed to stats export in my preferences (did this when I joined the project). Universe is listed among my projects, it shows the correct credit, just total number of members shown is far less than actual number of members in the project. For example my team is SETI USA, total number of SETI USA members shown on Boincstats and on Boinc Combined Statistics for this project is 34. Actual number is 165, number of members currently active is 47. I am wondering why only a fraction of actual members is counted. Also Universe is has status "No communication from project" on Boinc although Boinc shows how many hours of work are in my cue from Universe.

Only part of users accept exporting stats to external sites.
And BS count only users who have exported stats.

Why Boincstats says "No communication from project" I have no idea - site export engine didn't changed for ages here (only permission from user is added since project starts).

Okay, thank you. It is a bit of a mystery, I am attached to 5 projects and all others show accurate total number of members with credit and team members with credit, on both Boincstats and Boinc Combined Statistics. The actual comment is "No response from project." The other 4 projects say "Success." But Boincstats knows how many hours of work I have from Universe, same as the other projects.

I think you should contact Boincstats and ask them why total number of members is displayed differently for this project than for other projects. I bet it is something simple. Aggregation sites show Universe@home has 1,411 total participants. I bet the real number is at least ten times that many. I am curious to know. I know how many participate in the other projects, but there is no other source for this information. I can see my actual position for total credit and recent credit on this project by clicking under the Statistics tab but I cannot discover total number of participants. Thank you again for your effort.

Total number of participants and total number of hosts is shown on the Server Status page.

The incorrect count at the aggregation sites is probably due to the implementation of the GDPR laws.

Another related question, can you tell me how to change my resource allocation for this project? It has a default value of 100 and I can't see how to change it. If I want to change the portion allocated to this project the only way I can figure to do it is to change all the others so 100 represents a different proportion. For example if I want Universe to have 10 percent the sum for all projects must equal 1000. If I want Universe to have 20 percent the sum for all projects must equal 500. I cannot change the value from 100 under the Projects tab in Boincstats, evidently because this project does not communicate with Boincstats like the other projects do. Thank you again.

You simply edit your Universe@Home projects preference. Click the Edit button and the resource share value is the very first entry at the top of the page.

Okay, thank you Keith! I can edit the others from the BOINC control panel but not this one. That helps.

The reason Universe doesn't communicate with BoincStats is that you have not set Universe to be allowed to export its stats because of GDPR restrictions.
Go back to your Universe preferences and a!low third-party aggregation websites to have access to your data.

I did that a long time ago. Universe is the only one that says "No response from project" under the Projects tab in Boincstats. I don't think that has anything to do with me. Also it is strange that Boincstats says no response from project because Boincstats knows how many hours of work I have from Universe. In any case I can edit the resource allocation the way you described above, and then go to Boinc Manager and update it. It works. Problem solved.
