Hi, my Windows WS stalled on wu 40146072. I stopped it after 51,509.33 sec @ 50%. https://universeathome.pl/universe/workunit.php?wuid=40146072 Afterwards it was processed easily by to Linux machines. In 5k an 3k something seconds. Is there a bug in the windows code? Kind regards, Nikolas |

I see 2 errors occured for your computer. Each error says : - Unhandled Exception Record - Reason: Breakpoint Encountered (0x80000003) at address 0x00007FFBDECED162 Here is maybe a way to fix your problem. It"s a tutorial which explores several different ways. I advise you to try it.It may help you... Good Luck. |

Hi, Thank you. Interesting. I now decided to use Linux in future. Just put ubuntu on a pen drive. Works twice as fast than under windows for my computer. Kind regards, Nikolas |

I didn't understand what you meant when you questioned the windows code for crunching work units. After seeing your performance on Linux, I ran another test. I kept windows as the OS and installed a virtual machine with ubuntu in it just to see the difference in execution time. Here is a tutorial And incredibly, I get the same performance gains as you.(x2). I understand better now the leaderboard ranking where the first places are given to linux. I advise each windows cruncher to do the same. You'll spend less electricity to do the same amount of scientific work. By the way , it seems there is maybe a difference between the linux distros. The first 8 cores (40 nth) and the first 4 cores (46 nth) both run arch linux. This is maybe worth exploring further...for linux crunchers... Thanks to have open my eyes.
