A certain proportion of units converted, a break (1 week) and beyond. I think ~ 3,000,000 units are in series. I think so. A couple of the projects that I participate in run dry from time to time, including GPUGrid and Astroids. Not that unusual from what I have discovered. Lots of projects run short from time to time, it depends on their funding levels and if they do it themselves or if they depend on grants etc. The more independent the project the more likely it is to run out of tasks at times.
