You seem to feel that you are telling me something. Actually I was asking why you cared that the tasks were temporarily out. |

Actually I was asking why you cared that the tasks were temporarily out. That is a strange way to ask. |

Actually I was asking why you cared that the tasks were temporarily out. I thought "Why do you need it available 100% of the time?" was a fairly straightforward question. A valid answer might be "my computer setup is incapable of storing a large buffer". |

The website design is pretty bad after the upgrade. Pages are hard to read. Is it going to stay this way? Team USA forum | Team USA page Always crunching / Always recruiting |

Hello dear universe-boincer! Some days before, my position in country in boincstats fell down over 1000 places!! And my credits showed minus results!! Have had no Idea why. Read a hint, it is because universe needs a consent for my data transfer. What the heck was this?? And why just now that consent?? I am member since years. After I gave the consent my old position came back. And my old credits too. What I think now is... is there a need to give consents in other projects, like einstein or asteroids too?? |

Hello dear universe-boincer! It's a very stupid law passed by the European Union, and it's screwing up the entire world, even people not in Europe! One by one some projects are starting to have this pointless tickbox, and even worse they don't tell us when it's there. All you can do is go search for the tickbox whenever you fall off the stats for a particular project. Einstein already has a box. Not sure about the others. |

Yes many other projects also require this user approval. Others... Albert@home * Einstein@Home * LHC@Home * LHCathome-dev * NumberFields@home * VGTU * World Community Grid * WUProp@Home Thanks Bill F In October 1969 I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; There was no expiration date. |

Hello Peter and Bill, thank you both for your help. I found a button on the einsteinathome website about that consent und it has the default "No". I changed it. Now I have to search in all the other projects too. Thanks for the list, Bill. |

Hello Peter and Bill, The biggest problem is there is there is no standard place they put it, so you have to search thru everything to find it at each site. |

Hello Peter and Bill, Since all these projects use a similar system, perhaps Boinc could initiate some way we could just tick once on the Boinc website and that would tell every project? And when a project changes to having the tickbox, they could check the master list of who has already ticked. Even better, make it opt OUT. Mind you, that would probably be against the silly EU regs. Destroying our human rights or something.... |

W can't do this. Regulations strictly require get permissions from volunteers... The place where it is is a standard BOINC server, I haven't changed it. Krzysztof 'krzyszp' Piszczek Member of Radioactive@Home team My Patreon profile Universe@Home on YT |

The regulations suck. Especially when a lot of the volunteers don't even live in the EU. Also, how come more than half the projects haven't put the tickbox in yet? But the regs have been around for years. But anyway, what you could do is inform everyone by email or at least a notice through Boinc that we need to tick it. I think the vast majority don't even know it exists. |

Also, how come more than half the projects haven't put the tickbox in yet? But the regs have been around for years. The regulations are here since May last year. But anyway, what you could do is inform everyone by email or at least a notice through Boinc that we need to tick it. I think the vast majority don't even know it exists. I will do.
