Message 3596 - Posted: 25 Jul 2019, 15:05:46 UTC

Hi guys,

I am just wondering if anyone is getting any new WU. I haven't gotten any over the last day (last 2 days had less and less of tasks in queue) while BOINC stats says that WUs are available. Using i7-4790 only. Manual update of project doesn't work. Nothing really changed on my end. Is there anything going on on the project's end currently?

Thanks.

Never mind. I just got some WU. For some reason the last few days have been hit or miss when it comes to getting WUs on time before the previous ones complete. idk if there is some performance impact or slowdown affecting the main WU distribution servers...

It is my turn this time. I had a problem getting work yesterday, and detached. So I tried again today and it is still not working.
But Universe's loss is LHC's gain. I hope they can straighten it out though; this project is very innovative.

Hi Krzysztof,
All v 0.19 work units are now failing with the below compute error on raspberry pi 3. All v 0.18 WU's were running fine.

Sheesh, you really are a busy guy Krzysztof, sorry to add to your load. I hope things let up for you soon.

You need to have proper versions of the libraries installed in your system: CXXABI_1.3.9 libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.21'

Somewhere on forum is solution for this already published :)

Anyway, tomorrow I will add Android version of new app.

Thanks Krzysztof, yea my raspberry pi's havn't been updated in many years and this gave me the perfect excuse to do so. I installed the latest version of raspbian(buster) which has all the required libraries..
Looking forward to the new android app.
Thanks again.

None of my androids have had any new work for over a week. Laptops and PC's are only getting sporadic work, just one unit yesterday for example. Checking the server status shows hundreds off bots registering accounts, not a good thing.

Yeah something is wrong. I am getting work very sporadically. I really would like to know what could be the reason.

Hi Christopher,
I updated all my computers.
I found that kaspersky is locking the dowload of tasks
It is important to unlock BH Spin2 in kaspersky
To increase the speed of the computers it is real to clean the computer and the registry( maybe with ccleaner)
it is important to have the latest version of java
If you work at the same time with GPU then update regulary the driver of the GPU
The restart the computer
Do the latest memory and registry cleaning
then look the speed of your computer on the boinc website
Then try a speed test of the computers with boinc
Then compare the result on boins projects website
You will see big change in the speed computation of your computers
If the computers are hot then clean the cards and cooler and fan with pressured dry air
It then something is wrong it is not your fault dear boincer
Best regards to everybody

I'm not getting any BHSpin work on any of my 4 systems at the moment.
I have got the occasional job over the last few days (including one for my RasPi) so I know the system can find jobs.
Just that at the moment all are reporting that there is none available.

They vary. Today they are 50 minutes on my i7-8700, and yesterday they were 35 minutes. But I have seen 48 minutes before.

Yep I checked and 2 of my PC's had no work.
I just manually updated the project and it fetched 4 WU's only. Something isn't right.

Yes I saw some that were like 2x. My RPi vary quite a bit. Up to 9+ hours.

And, if it's of any interest, I have only ever received BHSpin jobs, despite my profile allowing "all applications " and other ones actually existing.

Check the "Tasks by application".

They have had only the BHspin v2 for the last year or so, but it looks like they are getting ready to send out the Universe ULX too, and probably others from what has been said.

I'm now seeing my Androids getting some work, however I'm also still getting the dreaded no work available on many occasions, so I'm not yet confident enough to turn off the other projects I attached to because of the lack of Universe@home work.
