Currently Universe@home is producing 6 upload files per task, out of which 0,1,2,5 is empty (file 0 used to contain some log about universe simulation), 3 is the same as input file and 4 is a log file (probably not part of validation) whose only scientific result (iidd) is a pseudorandom number? That makes Universe@home a very good cheating candidate. I could only imagine Universe@home is currently searching for a rare event, otherwise the empty result is of no scientific value and one can write a program that produces these empty results which runs in 5 seconds to calculate the pseudorandom number "iidd".

Admin? Can investigate and solve it please until project will definitely lost good reputation?

Two points.
The "cheat" user has suspended his host before the posts time here.
Second - the six file results exists because for different series of WU, results are stored in different files and for automation purpose is easier to generate empty file then create special template on every batch.

Edit:

From next batch I will put completely new validator written to other project to work.
I just need to spend few hours to make necessary changes and test it.

So, after this batch new one will be generate in next few days.

So a cheat was going on?

Credit today is higher for everyone yet credit per task is much lower. And many times its zero credit for valid tasks. :(

Same PC just 9 seconds difference in CPU time (2,643.46) yet 84 credit just because the wingman was faster.

You work on what, get it back to "old" style credit system or on some new with much lower credits per task? It will be fine to send us much more clear response ...
And what with "cheat" user? Doesn't matter if this is cheat or some problem with credit system, all credits that he get for few seconds WUs may be removed to stay be fair ...

All those tasks would have to be re-validated too since it's just bogus results.

Oh, Is that whats happening right now? Are old results being sent back through the validator? I have 10x the normal pending tasks and credit is several times normal today even though credit per task is like 1/8 to 1/6 of yesterday.

I highly doubt that it is cheating.

My RAC over last month was pretty consistent at 150k. I didn't touch any machine or change anything. Suddenly it jumps to 230k and I have thousands of completed tasks. Each with only second of calculation time. But the time is shown wrong in the overview.

I checked some statistics... this looks pretty bad. Some users gained massively (doubling and more) and some even lost. No clue what the hell is going on, but the statistics are scuffed to the max at the moment.

The one user is def cheating. These can't be completed in several seconds.

My guess is tasks from the past several days/weeks are being sent back through the validator and we're getting extra credit for tasks we've already done. That assumption is based off of the much higher pending tasks I've seen for myself AND the cheating user having thousands of invalids now.

For the rest of us its like extra credit, even if its much lower than the 667 credit we were getting.

Android-only user here: Same experience. Huge excess credit today, and all tasks since about 24 hours ago are earning ~60-80 credit rather than the standard 667. Credit earned is in line with other Boinc credit new projects (Seti etc.).
