I crunched one workunit now. The upload of about 50 MB seems to be too much per workunit. I have a 6 Mbit DSL - if i run more workunits the upload will block my DSL.

It appears that I already had an account here since the 4th Feb due to the BOINC Wide Teams import.

So I left the Test Project as is in case there is any more testing to be done and just had to get my password resent to me to access my account (BOINC wide teams import never imports my password correctly so I have to keep changing it on every new project).

Attached with no problems and work units downloaded.

Initial estimate was for 1 hour work units but BOINC was optimistic as they appear to be going to take between 3 to 5 hours on my computers.

All appears to be functioning well, e-mail notification works, work unit downloads/uploads work and the forum pages work, so all in all going well for a new project.

I am attached to both test & production. I am getting work on all my PCs. I am guessing all the old credit stays on the test & we were supposed to register/start over. Just making sure.

I'm sure that BAM will work fine tomorrow or day after :)

Just Willy need a day or two to update his site.

Ah, so you are saying that the "Signature error" is a BAM! problem? At first, you made it sound like it was related to the Test project, and requiring a reset of the Test project. It would be nice if you could explain to us the problem, and how it can be fixed.

Obviously I'm not 100% percent sure, but yes - it was partialy related to Test project for simply reason.
At the day one of building test server I named it (in installation script) "Universe@Home" - without "test" at the end. Recently I have changed this to solve problems when two project servers uses same name. Manager need reset project to start using new name but obviously I have no idea how it work on BAM.

So, if somebody have test project in manager on host then need to reset it first than attach to this one and I wrote about this problem in first post. I didn't know before about problems in connecting/reseting through BAM as I not very often use it (doesn't gave any sense on my few machines) .

Thank you. That helps more than you know, and might actually help Willy figure out the problem with BAM! It's important to have things setup correctly there, so your project gets viewed by users, and can easily be maintained on a grand scale.

You might consider contacting him to resolve the issue.

I'm already in contact with him (for different thing). I will mention this problem as well.

Okay. There's actually 2 BAM! problems I'm noticing.

1) [error] Bad signature for URL http://universeathome.pl/universe/
2) When the user uses the BOINCstats website to sign up for "Universe@Home", the project does NOT show up on their "My projects" page. I should see both "Universe@Home Test" and "Universe@Home" on that page.

PS: Congratulations on your launch. I look forward to helping you get some crunching done :)

I believe that it is related to server. I will ask Willy for details about it.

It's maybe because the project still isn't on projects list yet?

Thank you. As you see, not everything start perfect... ;)

"Universe@Home" *WAS* on the BOINCstats "Sign-up for projects" page, and I used the "Create Account" hyperlink, and it properly faded away from that page, indicating that my BOINCstats account has joined the project. *BUT* it doesn't list on the "My projects" page, which is the problem. All I see on the "My projects" page is the "Universe@Home Test" project, which was already there.

Yes, I'm talking about main projects list on BS. I have no idea that is single point at BS with all settings for or maybe Willy need to do separately everything on his site?

Edit:
I just noticed that we have strongly changed html templates on the server... Maybe this is a reason that BS don't get right signature?

Yes. It was exactly the same for me!

2 more issues:

1) I tried to create a post in the Number Crunching forum, but no matter what I try, I get this error preventing me from posting:
Users with no hosts attached are not allowed to post links
2) Here's the problem I was trying to post, along with a recommended solution:
Subject: Increase Your Deadlines

Your deadlines (currently 2-day deadlines, I believe)
... are too short, and are causing my GPU devices to go idle since BOINC thinks it must prioritize your CPU tasks ahead of the GPU tasks, in order to meet your crazy-short deadline.

If deadlines aren't that important, then you can set them to something like 1 month or 2 weeks, and probably be just fine. If deadlines are important, then I'd recommend you to use a 7-day deadline if possible. A 5-day deadline might work too, if needed.

Can you please increase the deadlines?

Thanks,
Jacob Klein

on the project server are no wu's "ready to send".

a productive project without beta status should have work all the time...

so please create a "few" workunits again.

regards
Miko
