I have noticed that the new work units that I downloaded say they will run for 10 minutes 34 seconds. This is much quicker than they used to run (over an hour). However they are not running for 10 minutes 34 seconds but 2 minutes 50 seconds then restarting. I have watched 2 work units do this multiple times (probably over 10 times now as I write this). It would appear that they will never end unless they are packaged with multiple work packets in the one work unit? I will leave them run as I have to go out and wont be back for many hours. Conan |

They have been doing this all day, I have come home after many hours away only to find not a single work unit has completed on any computer. Looping over and over, a total waste of power and time. I shall abort all current work units. Conan |

All the Quarkstars WUs I tried to run got to 99+% complete but never finished. I aborted all of them. Here is one of them...http://universeathome.pl/universe/result.php?resultid=21581628 |

This has been posted on before. This was for work units that completed but did not finish. My problem was that they never got past 2 minutes 50 seconds and about 22% before restarting from scratch. So I posted in a new post to show the different behaviour of the work units. Conan |

OK, thanks for the clarification. They will presumably be issuing new ones that will correct all problems. All the different types of work units apparently developed problems about the same time, so there may be some common cause. |

Hello, this issue occurred to my host last night after I disabled BHspin2 v0.02 app days ago for that major bug! How can an occasional user to safely crunch Universe@Home without running into bugs that result in wasting resources??? |

There are now more 0.03 Universe QuarkStars, but they still loop endlessly. This one, for example, on an Ubuntu machine (i7-4770): http://universeathome.pl/universe/result.php?resultid=21623978 |

There are now more 0.03 Universe QuarkStars, but they still loop endlessly. I think that they are resends from others who have had failed work units. Still 2,800+ Quarkstars work units in progress. I have had a few BHSpin work units and they have run successfully. Conan |

I have had a few BHSpin work units and they have run successfully. Yes, BHSpin is now working OK, so we have something to do for the moment, though it looks like the server has run dry. |

Also seems to be endless looping on the Ultraviolet Re-ionization work units as well. Mine are getting to 100% then restarting all within 3 minutes. Still aborting all Quarkstars for the same problem. Conan |

Same here. Seems like this has been blocking one of my finest machines for days.... "I should bring one important point to the attention of the authors and that is, the world is not the United States..." |

This is still a problem. After a couple of minutes my Quarkstars tasks get to about 12%, and then reset to 0%. This repeats until I abort them. |

My current QuarkStars is now since quite some time stuck at 99.999%, and has no CPU-time in its Eigenschaften, neither for a checkpoint, nor at all. It's now crunching for 2h, could I expect anything but time for another WUProp-Star? Grüße vom Sänger |

My current QuarkStars is now since quite some time stuck at 99.999%, and has no CPU-time in its Eigenschaften, neither for a checkpoint, nor at all. It's now really at 100% (and 3:30h) nothing else has changed. Grüße vom Sänger |

My current QuarkStars is now since quite some time stuck at 99.999%, and has no CPU-time in its Eigenschaften, neither for a checkpoint, nor at all. OK, now it's back to 97% and at just half an hour. I think I'll ditch it tomorrow in the morning, in about 8h, if nothing else happens while I sleep. Grüße vom Sänger |

I just tried again, hoping that a change in the data might fix it even if the app version was still the same "0.03 Universe QuarkStars". But still the same result: stuck at 99+ complete after about 45 minutes on my i7-4770 (Ubuntu 16.10) machine. Are they getting any good results on any machines? Are they working on it? I would at least expect them to cancel the series if it is entirely bad. What about the problems on the other applications too? We are being left in the dark as our resources are wasted. That is not a good sign of effective management, whatever the value of the science. |
