What limits you have in you BM?
This computer have also another projects?

The only change I made is rise rsc_fpops_est variable to prevent downloading to any tasks in slower computers.

Message 174 - Posted: 19 Mar 2015, 4:17:23 UTC - in response to Message 171.

Has any progress been made on this problem ?
I still can't get any workunits.

In my preferences I have ...
Run only the selected applications
Universe X-ray sources: no
Universe X-ray sources v2: yes

On the Server Status page it says ...
Universe X-ray sources v2 Unsent 196849

But every time I try to get some work, I get the following messages ...
19/03/2015 3:10:20 PM | Universe@Home | Requesting new tasks for CPU
19/03/2015 3:10:26 PM | Universe@Home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
19/03/2015 3:10:26 PM | Universe@Home | No tasks sent
19/03/2015 3:10:26 PM | Universe@Home | No tasks are available for Universe X-ray sources v2

I am using Windows 8.

I think it might be intermittent.
I just managed to get 1 workunit on my Windows 8.1 computer, but now I can't get anymore ...

Edit :
Yes, it seems to be intermittent. I have tried repeatedly getting workunits on 3 different computers and I have now managed to get a few. But other times I can't.

The worm is apparently in the Wu-estimated times of Boinc for Universe.
First 16 hours /Wu
Then 1 hour ++ (In fact, 3 hours ++ are needed Amd x6 1100, win7, Boinc 7.2.42)
After 2 days no work, again 16 hours per new Wu.

Mostly I can only get 1 WU at a time as well. The only way i've been able to get enough work is by constantly hammering the servers even then I get 1 work unit out of about 20 or more attempts. If I just leave boinc alone to do it's own thing no matter how much I need work the scheduler will only ask for work a few times then it just gives up. After that it won't ask again for another hour or so or until work it uploaded & then still gets nothing. Eventually I run out of work. Very frustrating & far from optimum for me or the server.

Occasionally I can get a burst of work that fills the buffers but then the symptoms return & it's only a matter of time that without intervention i'd be empty again.

I got a burst of work for a while & it seemed to start flowing again properly for a while but now back to one at a time every 20th or so request for work. I'm stumped. Time for bed (down under) we'll see what tomorrow brings.

@Pollux
I just tried changing the work buffer on one of my computers from 1 day to 2 days, then to 10 days (maximum) and in all cases I get the message that no tasks are available. But as you mentioned the estimated times are too long. (Some workunits that I got previously say that they have over 10 hours remaining, when according to the elapsed time and the progress %, they should finish in a bit over an hour)

I'll keep trying.

I haven't changed anything on my side, but right now I'm getting plenty of work units on all my computers. The estimated times look about right too.

If you've changed something Krzysztof, it appears to be working.

Only about 20% of my CPUs threads and only sometimes has something to do :(
