I am whining and I am leaving. Why on earth did you change the credit system in the middle of the game. What chance has another user who now just joined have to catch up to another user who crunched the same amount of time with the same machine and now have no chance of catching up since he is getting 67% less credit. This is not fair and is not for me. Good luck retaining your users.

How do you create a team. My Boinc World Wide Team: Acclaimed Boinc Users is not shown.

I don't seem to find how to create a new Team on this project. I wonder if there is a problem with Importing BOINC-wide teams as my Team: The Seekers Team is not listed as an existing team and I can't find an option to create it here. Please see: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/TeamImport

Seems like someone with a very, very high amount of cores, has surprisingly bunkered all the remaining work.

Surprise, surprise. This is the first time that a member with an RAC of 190K has passed the 1 million in one day. Bunkering seems to be working..It also helps when the validator is switched on.. Win at all costs.

Krzyztof, I appreciate that you are doing your best and keep us informed as to what is going on. I also appreciate that sometimes it is not possible to judge how long it will take to find out what causes failed workunits and how long it will take to rectify.

All I am hoping for is that you keep us informed regularly what is the current progress as you have done to date. Failing to do that will risk loosing your support base of volunteers for they will move to other projects. In addition, please remember that in order to get validated recognition from BOINC-Devs it is a requirement that you keep the users informed of your status and publish your results of your research.

Users can only do two things. 1. Point out an apparent problem and 2. Switch to another project. Now a number of us have pointed out that the size of the upload files are unmanageable at the users end. In my case, my cache is set at two days although the maximum is 10. BOINC software manages that quite well and only downloads more when the software thinks that it can handle the work in the allotted time. Please note that the BOINC Project software also gives you the choice of limiting the number of units sent, beyond which the user gets a message that his request accede the daily limit and will not get new workunits. As regards the slowness of the upload. I am on cable and the Techs at Optus my cable provider tells me that my upload speed is 1.4 Mbps and the problem is at your end as can be proven by pinging your server. It is not capable of supporting receiving such large uploads from many sources. This can be likened to a DOS attack. Please note also that Universe is the only project that have this problem. I can upload to any of the other 50+ active projects in a matter of minutes not hours.

Finally, since you have indicated that you can not do anything about this in the foreseeable future, I am also setting my machines to No new work and crunch some other more suitable project. If and when the project is fixed I might return for I like the science behind it. Good Luck.

Keep on crunching and have a nice day...

Krzysztof. Please talk to your users and tell them in the News section that your project requires large upload files that might not finish uploading before the deadline. Better still, suspend issuing New Work Units until this can be fixed. Use your test server to fix problems or try solutions but not the production server as this will not work for most people. No other projects have this problem. Good luck with it. The project production is relatively new and problems are expected but that is the purpose of the Test Server to try to fix them.

I have set all machines to No New Work. I have over 500 files uploading that have passed the deadline although they finished days ago before the deadline. if my i74930 machines on win7 with unlimited date on a cable connection can't handle this, than this project is not for me.

Congratulations Krzysztof on the setting up of the production server. As one can expect, problems will occur . "Huston, we have a problem". I only been running WU's for 4 to 8 hours on various machines. Results to date: In progress=1146, Pending =17, Errors=16 (All cancelled by project), Valid=1.

Since sending WU's are halted, the validator and assimilator are Not running, shall I continue to crunch the remaining 1146 units? will it be some use for the project? or should I abort them. I am not worried about the credit but I do not wish to waste Electricity if they are not worth anything..

You might also like to know that although I am on cable, my upload speed is only 13kbps and looking at the upload of just one unit, it will take over one hour to upload a unit that is close to 5MBps. Not complaining, but I thought you ought to know.
