Hi, Grant. Below are the last ~15 events or so in my node's event log and I saw the lack of disk space error. I checked and found ~1600 screenshots in the home directory which I deleted and now Universe@home is now running fine. The housecat must have taken a nap on the keyboard at some point!

Grant, you taught me an important lesson tht I'll take to heart: check the event log .

Case closed and thank you.

2) Message boards : Number crunching : No new tasks for one of my machines? (Message 6007)

Hello, All.

I have two raspberry pi 400s, running the same version of BOINC and both set with preferences from the universe@home account page. One of the machines is chugging along normally while the other is down to three tasks in its queue with none pending. I've tried rebooting the machine and hitting the update button on the BOINC manager but no dice. Any advice on what to try next? On the BOINC manager ther is a "reset project" button that I am wary to try since I don't know if it erases anything important.

Thank You for any help

Hi, All. My 4-core Pi-400 (running 64-bit raspian bullseye: Thank you, Keith Myers) is currently averaging ~16K credits per day. I think it could average quite a bit higher if it was running U@H only. For a $70 SBC (bought from Adafruit), I think that's pretty good for something that is so low budget. Fun! -Mike

Hi, Guys. Wow, that is so weird. I can see the logic of needing </options>
to clse out <options> but my /var/lib/boinc-client/cc_config.xml still remains:

<options>
<alt_platform>arm-unknown-linux-gnueabihf</alt_platform>
<options>

and it's been running boinc on my pi-400 for several weeks now, across
multiple reboots.

Krzysztof, Keith: thank you so very much for supplying the answers to my PI OS 64-bit problem!

Especially to you, Keith. Your clear instructions on setting up additional libraries and editing the cc_config.xml file worked on my PI-400, no problems.

Just in case anyone else is having the same issue, I edited my cc_config.xml file using the command:

sudo nano /var/lib/boinc-client/cc_config.xml

and it now looks like (edited as per Keith's suggestions)::

--
This is a minimal configuration file cc_config.xml of the BOINC core client.
For a complete list of all available options and logging flags and their
meaning see: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/client_configuration
-->
<cc_config>
<log_flags>
<task>1</task>
<file_xfer>1</file_xfer>
<sched_ops>1</sched_ops>
</log_flags>
<options>
<alt_platform>arm-unknown-linux-gnueabihf</alt_platform>
<options>
</cc_config>

Four threads of BHspin2 are now running on my PI400. I am looking forward to seeing how well it helps out with Work Units for Universe@Home. If it is an improvement to the 32-bit OS I might consider upgrading my PI3s and PI4s.

Thank You Very Much

Hi, All. Thank you for your help in the past. I have a problem which my googling has not been able to resolve and so I would like to ask about it here.

I run Universe@Home on a cluster of Raspberry PI 3s and 4s and a while back sought to add a PI 400 running PI OS 64-bit (buster) to the mix. I wanted to see if the 64-bit OS ran those tasks faster, which I was under the impression that it should.

I've installed boinc on the PI and added the Universe@Home project. The boinc manager pops up just fine on the PI, it also autostarts boinc (I see it running in the background). The boinc manager communicates with Universe@Home as the stats such as "total work done" and "average work per day" show up in the manager.

The problem is that no tasks are ever received by the PI and so the PI 400 sits there idly running boinc without the BHspin2 process that I see merrily chugging away on the PI 3 and PI 4 nodes.

Is there anyone out there running Bullseye 64-bit on a PI who can advise me on how to fix this? Thank You very much!

Hi, Folks. I am also suffering from the server issues. On my raspberry pi
nodes I can see up to a dozen 'upload pending' finished task listings per node
waiting in the queue.

Hitting the 'retry pending transfers" button in boinc does not seem to help and
it is sad to see my average wu points go down day by day. I hope the folks
at Universe@Home can get things running as before. Anything specific
that I could do on my end I would be happy to hear about.

Hello, Number Crunchers. I am thinking about what boinc
project I should concentrate on the next time universe@home
goes down for a protracted length of time. Are there any
pi users out there with experience on the rosetta@home
project? I would be interested in asking how that has gone
for you.

Also, any tips for speeding up a cluster of pi-3s and pi-4s
vis-a-vis universe@home productivity? I already have the
individual nodes overclocked, which seems to help a bit.

I hope you are doing well, Krzysztof. and I wish you a very speedy recovery
with no issues. Thank you for making more WU available. My little pi
cluster is back chugging away. While univer@home was down I tried
signing onto einstein@home but I seemed to generate very little work units
completed for time spent (ARM processors just not powerful enough, I guess).
