Usually when this happens they are tasks that were sent out because some other task was returned too late, but not in this case:

New application works fine on my Raspberry Pi's (both model 3B).
Run times are 11-12 hours for the units completed so far.

I have to release some server resources as we preparing to:
1. Installing new SSD drives.
2. Preparing server to new GPU app.
3. Make some decisions about new incomming hardware (planned in next few months).

I know, that it is not expected information, but this is live server and live project and I have to be carefully with all changes... :(

I recently switched both my Raspberry Pi's (ARM/Linux) to Ultraviolet reionization.
One of them only received a couple of tasks so may not yet qualify as reliable.

But this host http://universeathome.pl/universe/show_host_detail.php?hostid=30574 has 47 consecutive valid tasks, so why is it not receiving new tasks ?

Also, please check this unit (for the same host): http://universeathome.pl/universe/workunit.php?wuid=6629026. Why did it take 9 days for the second task for this unit to be sent ?

I think one of two possibilities:

1) Server Status page is broken. It is showing that tasks are available, when in reality, there are none.

or

2) A homogeneous redundancy problem I have seen in the past at other projects. All the tasks available are for one particular rare combination of OS and CPU type that no one but the admin and a few others are running. And no tasks available for most of the users who have more common combinations of OS and CPU type.

For what it is worth, I have 1 linux machine (64 bit linux mint), 8 windows machines (Win 7 64 and win 10 64), and 11 Macs (latest OS). All are 64 bit intel CPUs. None are getting any tasks. All are being told none available.


Something is definitely wrong. The last two Ultraviolet reionization tasks I received were sent to my wingman a week earlier ! They must have been 'waiting' to be sent for over a week while my computers were screaming for new work.

No, for BHspin2 it looks good, as time to send it back is 2 weeks.
UV will take probably less than one hour and RPI can process many of them in one day.

Also, I'm right that you get only BHspin2 tasks?


I have only enabled BHspin2 at the moment, I did not know there were other application for Raspberry Pi (I will enable them as well to check it out). The esitimates for my BHspin2 tasks are a real problem. According to BOINC manager they now have an estimate of only 1 hour, while they will take 20-24 hours to complete. This means I will get way too many tasks (I have now set no new tasks to prevent this) and may be unable to process them all before the deadline.

Something is wrong. I am running on two nearly identical Raspberry Pi's (model 2B).
They take 20-24 hours to process a Universe BHspin v2 task.
I did not get any work (like may others) for a while, but now all of a sudden I am getting lots of work. The problem is that the estimated time for these tasks is 1 hour. This means I am getting too many and they may even abort because they take too long to process before they are ready.
Did anyone else notice sudden problems with estimated times ?

As an addition to my previous message: I now got some new work.
I enabled BHspin v2 in my preferences (only BHspin was enabled).
I don't understand why this solved the problem as the setting for:

If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?

was set to 'yes'.

Why did I not receive work from this 'other application' and did I need to select BHspin v2 explicitely ?

I think this can be a problem, as application is compiled on 32 bit system on RaspberyPi...
I will try compile application on Ubuntu under Odroid Today, but this will require probably new platform for ARM64 platfor in homogoneus redundancy...


I have not received any new tasks on my Raspberry Pi's for three days now. All I got were a couple of resends. Most of the time I get:

Both my Raspberry Pi's are running stock Boinc 7.4.23 and have an uptime of over 150 days. They have been running Universe@Home without any problems for all this time (and more). Why am I not receiving any new tasks anymore ? Something must have changes server side and as my Pi's are 32-bit I don't think a 64-bit application built on Odroid will solve time problem.
